Tej Tadi is the founder and CEO of MindMaze, a Switzerland-based company that fuses neuroscience and virtual reality technology to create human-machine interfaces. MindMaze’s first such product was the MindMotion Pro, which helps expedite rehabilitation for stroke patients by tapping into the brain’s wiring. The device has been used by more than 1,000 patients in 40 hospitals and clinics across Europe. Now, after locking down FDA approval in 2017, MindMaze is introducing the MindMotion Pro to the U.S.

Tadi’s background in engineering and PhD in neuroscience–which incorporated mixed reality, robotics, and brain imaging–spawned MindMaze. But his ambitions transcend health care: Last year, Tadi and company launched Mask, a foam insert for VR headsets that captures your facial expressions and maps them onto a VR avatar. Coupled with an investment from Leonardo Di Caprio, Mask’s arrival expands the company’s footprint into gaming and social networking.
